More birth day photos

Finally another batch of photos from right after Kelton's birth (not that we knew he was a Kelton at that point...)

For one thing, Mommy looked a bit surprised ... didn't she know why she went to the hospital??

Though Mom and Dad quickly got used to being parents:

Breastfeeding got off to a great start, especially with the help of our doula Sandy:

That's enough for now, folks.

First batch of birth photos

OK, here are some of the very first photos of baby.

End of Day 2, snoozing on Mom after a good feeding:

... and, quite possibly the cutest photograph in history:

Stunned

Stunned. That was the mutual reaction between dad and boy, as boy emerged from mom. Kelton's eyes were open as his head was born, and since my face was only a foot away his gaze locked onto mine before the rest of him was even born. I think we each wore the same expression.

On Mom, seconds after birth:

Hey, hey hey...

Well they changed the traffic signs to a brighter yellow." --Mraz

We welcome baby Kelton Finn Bailey, born seven-and-a-half pounds on January 31, 2005 at 3:23 PM at Stanford's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, healthy and happy, to a relieved and elated mom and dad.

The colors do seem to shine a little brighter today, and we can't wait to start our lives together.

As things settle down, we'll begin sharing that story with you here.
