On ice

Brennan tried ice skating for the first time. After a rocky, slippery, slidey start, he began to get the hang of it. He's ready to teach Weston!

Fluorescence

Weston & Brennan were mesmerized by the fluorescence display at the Gem & Mineral Show this weekend.

Pinnacles National Park

We headed out to the Balcony Cave Trail at Pinnacles National Park. Lovely hot February weather. Dave and were last there 10 years ago and then it was still just a National Monument.

The boys favorite part was the fault cave.

Making craters

We spent the afternoon making moon craters. Exciting!

Kapla robot

Weston and mommy teamed up to make Kippy the Robot.

Rain!!!

It's finally raining! We all went for a misty, drippy, lovely hike at Foothill Park this afternoon. Weston spotted a newt, Brennan gave his new hiking boots a test run, Brennan felt a puddle in a tree, and Weston modeled his frog umbrella. Kelton demonstrated his independence by hiking ahead. It felt great to be out in the rain!

Lite brite

My childhood Lite Brite is as engaging for
Weston & Brennan as it was for me when I
was a kid. I spent hours creating pictures
using this same Lite Brite.

Light table

We tried a nighttime magnatile experience. Kelton set us up with an LED light and Weston & Brennan went to town building.

Immiscible

We experimented to see if oil and water mix.

Straw art

First use an eye dropper to put the liquid watercolor on the paper. Then using the straw, give it a good strong blow!!! Weston thought it was hilarious.
