Look dad no training wheels!

Weston and Brennan are flying without their training wheels for the first time today. Daddy is pretty tired from helping two boys at once! Kelton is trying to help them as well.

Spring in the mountains

Fresh, alive, bursting with color, flowing with snow melt, there is nothing else like spring in the mountains!

Windstorm aftermath

The area around our cabin had a terrible windstorm in November. Our cabin escaped damage other than a broken picnic table leg. Sadly many cabins need extensive repair.

The trails are a bit challenging, especially for short legs!

To celebrate the end of the school year, we went to the Exploratorium in San Francisco. We explored all sorts of things ranging from looking at how water drops fall to listening with our ears switched to zebra fish embryos moving under a microscope to sending colors and smells. It was a full day!

Camp Augusta

After a lovely week at our cabin, we headed to Camp Augusta for the weekend with our homeschooling group. What an awesome experience. We all loved the enormous range of activities.

The kids enjoyed swinging on a variety of rope swings including one more than 25 feet off the ground (they were harnessed in for that one). We did many crafts including black smithing, wood lathe working, tie dye, silk painting, herbal medicine, primitive fire making and weaving dream catchers. We did many active things including a high ropes course, enormous swing, ninja training and canoeing. We also had world drumming lessons and a ukulele lesson. Brennan even performed on his uke at the talent show. We were happily exhausted by Sunday afternoon.

Gold belts

Weston and Brennan earned their gold belts in Tae Kwon Do this week.
