Riding the carousel

Kelton discovered the magic of riding the a carousel over our winter holidays. First he got to ride at Rodger Williams Park with his cousins when we visited Rhode Island. Kelton had a funny expression on his face and we thought he was scared of the ride. But when it stopped he was heart-broken and kept saying "More, more, more".

Kelton had his chance for more carousel a couple of days later when we went to the Columbus Zoo with Grandpa. He was so excited and having so much fun that he got to ride it twice. We went back to the zoo that night to see the zoo lights display and Kelton remembered the carousel and made a bee-line for it even though it was halfway across the park. Again he was having so much fun riding that he got to go twice! Five carousel rides in 3 days, not bad for someone not yet two!

Christmas!!

How could we forget Christmas? I guess, life in the New Year gets busy and we get behind on our holidays! Plus it was a bit complicated since we had Christmas 4 times this year. First was an early Christmas (Dec 22nd) at home in California since we were planning to fly to Rhode Island a few days ahead. But due to miserable air flight troubles we had our 2nd Christmas (Dec 25th) flying all day. Our 3rd Christmas (Dec 26th), was everything Christmas should be, presents at Nana and Papa's, dinner and more presents at Auntie Sue's, and playing with cousins. Our 4th Christmas (Jan 1) was celebrated in Ohio with Grandma and Grandpa.

So here are some of our pictures from Christmas in Rhode Island. First is Christmas morning opening presents with Nana and Papa. This year Santa brought Kelton a Choo-choo!

After Christmas morning at Nana and Papa's we went to Auntie Sue's and got to open presents all over again. Kelton also got a chance to play with Dylan and Sierra. Kelton called Dylan Duncan, Sierra Ra-ra, and Auntie Sue was Auntie Ooo.

After all the Christmas excitement, Kelton got into his red jammies. He gave Papa a nice goodnight kiss, and played train on daddy's arm for a good night snuggle.

A winter hike

On New Year's Day we went on a hike with Grandpa. Since we were in Ohio at the time it was cooooold.

Here we are all decked out in our winter gear, freezing while mommy takes the picture.

I had fun playing with a stick I found and, since we were hiking in an oak forest, I found a lot of acorns to pick up. I kept pretending to put the acorns in my mouth, while mommy kept saying, "only squirrels eat acorns, not people".
