Chickens

Brennan & Weston loved holding the chickens at teacher Debbie's farm. They each got a fresh egg to bring home. We also tasted golden raspberries, boysenberries, strawberries, tomatoes & dug purple potatoes for school tomorrow.

We are so excited to work on the farm at school next year!

More glass work

Kelton was on fire about working glass, so we signed up for two more classes. We made paper weights, blown ornaments, and a blob. Kelton became more independent each time.

Clay

We are experimenting with polymer clay. We made beads for necklaces, sea turtles & other misc things.

Viewing Venus

Glass pumpkins

We picked up our finished pumpkins this afternoon and spent an hour and a half watching another class blowing. We are all fascinated.

Glass blowing

Last night we learned how to make glass pumpkins. Amazing class, awesome instructor!

Our pumpkins need a day in the annealing oven before we can bring them home. Can't wait to see them cooled.

Georgia O'Keeffe trip

Today Kelton and I took a field trip to the DeYoung Art Museum in San Francisco. We went to see the special exhibit of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings. She is one of my favorite artists, so it was an especially delightful day for me. It's impressive to see the intense vibrancy of her canvases in real life. We also went to the 9th floor observation deck and viewed the city. Kelton and decided we want to live up there!

Afterwards we spent an hour in the adjacent Japanese Tea Garden. Kelton chatted with the gardener while she waded hip deep in the pond skimming the surface. Kelton also attracted several carp and took portraits.

It was a lovely, cool, sunny day and we all appreciated the freedom of homeschooling.

Have nebulizer, will travel

Weston still needs multiple breathing treatments a day, but that doesn't stop him from going to Sacramento for the day. Kelton and daddy set up an inverter so we could run the nebulizer on the road.

First we went to the Spring Cabin Owners meeting. Then we visited the Railroad Museum in Old Sac. After a quick yummy Mexican dinner we are headed on the two hour drive home.
