Both babies love their baths. While they both splash and kick, Brennan is so vigorous that we've nicknamed him kickasaurous. Kelton thinks it's very funny when Brennan splashes him.

Look, Dad, no training wheels!

I can't quite believe it yet, but it looks like Kelton has gotten the hang of riding his bike without training wheels before his fourth birthday. He tried once back in summer, when he made a good effort but it was just too early. He asked again a couple weeks ago and now it took only a few minutes before he was off on his first solo ride. The next day he could go about 50 yards on the grass before going kaflump. As soon as I can teach him to get started on his own, I think we'll be all set.

My boy is growing up fast and looks a little different each day. I'm starting to see why everyone says he looks like his mother. I am always glad when the camera is handy to capture an angelic face that I can turn into a black and white closeup. This one is from "family orchestra" time today.

Hard at work on New Year's Day

On New Year's Day our friends Dave and Su-Lin offered to take Kelton to Dave's disaster response team warehouse. Here he got demonstrations of all sorts of tools and got to use quite a few of them, too (good thing Mom wasn't there). The highlight, no doubt, was his chance to operate a forklift and actually stack a pallet.

Arastadero Park. The new stroller is wonderful.
